A Burlesque on Carmen is a forty-three minute Chaplin film short that succeeds mightily in boring me to death.
Wait a minute. Say it again. How long? Forty-three fucking minutes long. The next one, which is Police,
was the final picture for Essanay Company before Charlie Chaplin signed a contract with Mutual Film Corporation.
So, what happened to the Essanay Company? It went out of business in 1916.
All in all, I now understand what Colonel Kurtz meant in Apocalypse Now: "The horror...the horror..."
