Opinion:
Despite his impressive Nordic looks and body, Dolph Lundgren is an insanely bad actor although I thought
he was so funny in Universal Soldier. Sure, he was legendary as Ivan Drago in Rocky VI, the apogee
of his career. He has the tendency to put me to sleep in many subsequent films. The Punisher is a good
example. I think it's because of his laconic eyes.
Confirmed:
Suffered from asthma.
Had been tested for IQ and scored 160.
Was discovered by Grace Jones while working as a security guard at Capitol Theatre of Sidney, Australia, in
1981. Had been studying chemical engineering at the University of Sydney up to that point. Began dating her
and was brought to the United States where he could be spotted at Studio 54. Was awarded a Fulbright
fellowship to MIT but showed no interest. Decided to take acting lessons and got noticed quickly to be
cast in his first film: A View to a Kill.
Auditioned for the role of Ivan Drago in Rocky IV but was told he's too tall. Eventually, was chosen,
and then trained with Sylvester Stallone for four hours daily for months. One day, Stallone decided to have
it go for real and landed in the hospital for a week when Dolph Lundgren landed a hard punch on his chest.
Became famous worldwide after the movie came out.
Fluent in Swedish and English, can speak five languages fairly okay: French, German, Italian, Japanese, and
Spanish. Is well-read. Has won tournaments in kickboxing. Admitted years later that he consumed heavy doses
of steroids and that it was the cause of his health problems.
Rumors: None.
