Mafioso
5/12: Mafioso works because of Alberto Sordi's outstanding performance.

If not for him, I doubt the film would see the light of the day nowadays. His personality reminds me of Chevy Chase's Clark Griswold. However, the last twenty minutes is disappointing. I wish the filmmakers came up with a better finish.

The idea of Antonio being boxed up in a crate en route to New York City from Sicily is absurd, thus ruining the movie. It's stupid and senseless. If it happened somewhere in Italy, fine...I'll accept it. But New York City? That's far and therefore impossible.

All in all, Alberto Sordi's brilliant performance is the chief reason to see Mafioso.
