Marnie
2/06: Marnie is a nicely directed film that falls short in several aspects.

One is the chemistry between Sean Connery and Tippi Hedron. There's nothing that makes me believe it exists. Actually, her poor acting is what killed the film.

Two, the story is ridiculous although I can understand the psychological motives behind it. There's a famous example of a similar incident involving a baby who got scared on purpose when he came into contact with a piece of fur. Then, he continued to live in fear of it for the rest of his life.

Three is the length of the movie which is too long. At least forty minutes needs to be excised.

The romance between the boss and his secretary should've been forbidden for obvious reasons. At the same time, I feel that Mark Rutledge's sister-in-law, Lil, was more suited for him.

All in all, Marnie isn't a great Hitchcock movie but is incorporated with some interesting cinema techniques.
