Opinion: Nicolas Cage has the widest range of all thespians. Although capable of going crazy in any given film (see Vampire's Kiss and Deadfall for what I mean), he can be calm to deliver a very normal performance like It Could Happen to You and The Family Man. The first time I learned of Nicolas Cage is Raising Arizona, making me a complete fan. When he did Leaving Las Vegas, I finally declared him as a great actor to be taken seriously. Unfortunately, the 21st century hasn't been kind to Nicolas Cage due to bankruptcy issues, forcing him to do ridiculous movies, and as a result, he lost credibility.
