Anyone who knows the real story about Richard M. Nixon, his gang, and Watergate won't be fooled by
Our Nixon.
Ostensibly, it's a feel-good documentary about the good times and deeds during Nixon's presidency for one and a
half terms. Who can't resist the home videos and the good guys named H.R. Haldeman, Dwight Chapin, and John
Ehrlichman? Make no mistake: they were all criminals. Therefore, you should never believe any of their words.
The best book to read is Nixon's Darkest Secrets: The Inside Story of America's Most Troubled President
by Don Fulsom. Why do you think he's often ranked among worst presidents in U.S. history? It's very, very rare
to hear his name mentioned in the news the past twenty-five years or so.
Among home videos in the documentary, I'm surprised to see no image of Bebe Rebozo who happened to be lovers
with Richard M. Nixon. Yep, the disgraced president was gay despite being against it and sounding like a
homosexual at times. A mass murderer who sabotaged the 1968 peace talks that LBJ was holding in order to end
the Vietnam War sooner than expected for the sole purpose of winning the presidential race, he was also a drunk
wifebeater who profaned constantly as heard on the tapes and had extensive ties with the Mafia. There's so
much more that's not going to be found in Our Nixon.
All in all, Our Nixon is full of shit and thus belongs in the trash can.
