9/26: William Friedkin sure lost his way during the 80's, huh?

Rampage is as apathetic as it gets compared to To Live and Die in L.A.. Nobody cares, and even the ending says so. Worse is the screenplay penned by the director which is 100% manipulative just like how the serial killer was freed by the guards inside the van. If the audience knows who did it, where's the suspense then? The rest of the trial becomes "whatever," especially when there's another one coming up that will put the guy away forever.

None of the liberal crap is believable. Give me a break about the PET scan. That still doesn't absolve the serial killer's responsibility for the murders. Then again, it's California who keeps fucking up all the time. Death penalty isn't even a concept there. Close to 700 inmates are currently sitting on death row, but only 13 had been executed with the latest having taken place in 2006.

Supposedly the movie is based on Richard Trenton Chase. Now, if you look at the history of his life, it's easy to arrive at the conclusion that he was a pretty messed up individual. But William Friedkin wants to present a perfectly normal guy to advance his arguments about death penalty. Ha! What an idiot.

All in all, Rampage proves William Friedkin was living in a fantasy world.
