The more Katherine Hepburn's character talks about nothing, the longer Suddenly, Last Summer drags.
Sure, the acting is fine, and everybody's performance holds up from start to finish. But it's the ludicrous story that
ruins the film. After the tension builds up for the biggest surprise at the end, it turns out to be a big nothing.
That's the problem with Tennessee Williams' plays: too melodramatic.
All in all, Suddenly, Last Summer is a stupid waste of time.
