I want you to imagine a wet sponge that's being squeezed and then some more.
That's all of the personality drained out from S.W.A.T. What a boring movie with so many complicated
set-ups that will never happen in a million of years. A lot of times, it feels like CGI took over, especially
during the jet landing scene to get the French terrorist. The last thirty minutes is absurd; aren't there supposed
to be more than one team, especially when it comes to handling the aftermath?
S.W.A.T. may star Samuel L. Jackson and Colin Farrell, but they rarely make any effect. The filmmakers
might as well replace them with a couple of nobodies, and it will still keep humming along. Having Michelle
Rodriguez aboard is always an automatic F anytime. She sucks in acting and is just a wannabe "tough" tomboy.
The same can be said for Olivier Martinez. LL Cool J is at best a failed TV star.
How about the scene at the beginning? Impossible. There were two guys in the open shooting at everybody. All the
cops had to do was snipe them. Game, set, match. And there was an idiot cop running by himself without any cover
before being predictably shot down. I'm pretty sure anyone can hear a helicopter, even if it's nearing the roof of a
building where the bad guys inside have kept their eyes and ears peeled for intruders. How about the chance
of killing any hostage, too, before the cops started to come?
All in all, a dull pencil is more entertaining than S.W.A.T.
