Tease
11/25: Tease is better than the first two films of the Poison Ivy franchise.

Ironically, this one is also called Poison. There's a reverse feminine Oedipus complex in play where the daughter desires her mother and kills the father, any male suitor, and whoever else stands in her way. In case if a viewer is confused about the murder of the male teacher, that's a temporary transfer of aggression with his fiancée taking the place of the mother.

Rosanna Arquette and Jürgen Prochnow may be the main attraction as prominently shown on the DVD cover, but this is really Mandy Schaffer's show. Thanks to the latter, sex appeal is held very high throughout, but Rosanna Arquette shan't be outdone in this department. Surprisingly, Jürgen Prochnow isn't a bad guy this time.

There are a few negatives. One, there are hardly people around, especially when Traci kills people. Two is the cheap quality, but I've gotten used to it in no time. Three, the plot is absurd if I think about it deeply. By the way, the summary given online describes the mother a "failed movie actress," but that's not true; she won an Oscar (I guess) shortly before the husband was killed by her daughter.

All in all, Tease is a worthy neo-noir picture with a strong femme fatale in Mandy Schaffer.
