Ambulance
1/26: Because of the wacky tone, The Ambulance is actually a cult film.

Had Eric Roberts been replaced by somebody else, it would be too mundane. Hence, he's largely the reason why the situation is more bizarre than normal in a comic book way. Even the profession is taken advantage of. And yes, that's the famous Stan Lee himself, an icon of Marvel Comics, in the first ever credited screen appearance.

At the beginning, when Eric Roberts pursued Janine Turner on the streets of New York City, it reminded me of the spontaneity in À bout de souffle with Jean-Paul Belmondo and Jean Seberg. Interestingly, I found Megan Gallagher to be a natural fit for Eric Roberts, and my instinct turned out to be correct in the long run.

If there's a negative, it's James Earl Jones. He's pretty bad, and his acting needs more work. Red Buttons is more of a good sport for going along with everything. As a result, he steals Eric Roberts' thunder at times. Unusual is the old-fashioned ambulance, but I find it hard to believe nobody besides Eric Roberts's character paid attention when Cheryl was mysteriously taken away.

All in all, if you liked Extreme Measures, The Ambulance will do.
