The Evil Dead (1981)

8/06: The Evil Dead is surprisingly a good low-budget horror picture.

It works well despite the minimal story and limited dialogue. The acting is effective but isn't important. I especially like the special effects and the horror scenes. It doesn't waste a lot of time dwelling on the little details but rather gets to the gore part straightaway.

All in all, The Evil Dead belongs in anybody's list of top horror pictures to watch in the dark for the jolly fun of it.
