8/06: The Fall of the House of Usher, a short story penned by Edgar Allan Poe, resembles the same kind of pictures that Hammer Horror had produced during the heyday.

Of all films produced by Roger Corman, this is the most expensive at $200,000, so it's not a bad job. Vincent Price is pretty good as Roderick Usher and has nice lines to work with. Highly camp for a horror picture, it works well with low expectations although the ending comes off as cheap.

All in all, The Fall of the House of Usher is a decent horror picture with nice cinematography to boot.
