At the end of The Trial, the former wunderkind should've said, "I played the advocate and wrote
and directed this piece of shit. My name is Orson Welles."
Yep, the script sucks. Two hours of my time was wasted listening to the nonsense. If there's a reason why
Hollywood stopped bothering with Orson Welles after the 40's, this or
Mr. Arkadin is more than enough.
Anthony Perkins probably didn't know what the plot was all about, but he could beam with pride by having
starred in an Orson Welles picture. It would've been more interesting if Norman Bates was on trial for all
the crimes committed in his life.
All in all, don't even think about seeing The Trial; you'll regret it, believe me.
