From Russia with Love is almost comparable with
Dr. No, having suffered from the same problems: overt sexism, low
intelligence, and absurd moments.
As usual, women are constantly treated like sex objects, and this idea clearly comes from the male point of view.
The catfight scene between two gypsies has my head shaking in disbelief.
Another terrible aspect is Robert Shaw's character who's killed off easily. Grant is like this awesomely trained villain,
and he finally has James Bond in his hand. Then, he lets himself be talked to, allowing Bond to buy time, and pays the
ultimate price for it.
Of course, I never get to see much of the head honcho of the SPECTRE organization: only his hand and the white Persian
cat. Was that an idea stolen for the cartoon show Inspector Gadget? James Bond gets to bed more women than ever.
Hmm, I still fail to see his charm.
All in all, From Russia with Love is rubbish but rises above the crap involving Roger Moore.
